Bound state approach to the QCD coupling at low energy scales

چکیده
We exploit theoretical results on the meson spectrum within the framework of a Bethe-Salpeter (BS) formalism adjusted for QCD, in order to extract an “experimental” coupling α s (Q) below 1 GeV by comparison with the data. The relativistic BS potential follows from a proper ansatz on the Wilson loop to encode confinement. The experimental points α s (Q) exhibit a reasonable agreement with the infrared safe Analytic Perturbation Theory (APT) coupling from 1 GeV down to 200 MeV, while, below this scale, give a hint on the vanishing of αs(Q ) as Q → 0 , consistently with a “massive” modification of APT. As a main result, we claim that the combined BS-APT theoretical scheme provides us with a rather satisfactory correlated understanding of very high and low energy phenomena.

Quark Confinement in Light-Front QCD and A Weak-Coupling Treatment to Heavy Hadrons
In this paper, we develop a weak-coupling treatment of nonperturbative QCD to heavy hadrons on the light-front. First, we present a derivation of quark confining interaction in light-front QCD for heavy quark systems, based on the recently developed light-front similarity renormalization group approach and the light-front heavy quark effective theory. The resulting effective lightfront QCD Hami...
متن کاملSome aspects of the quark-antiquark Wilson loop formalism in the NRQCD framework
Heavy quark bound states provide an extremely difficult but at the same time appealing system to test QCD. The difficulties are obvious. One is the mixing of different energy scales. This is a typical feature of any bound state problem in quantum field theory and makes tricky even a purely perturbative solution of it. An other conceptual difficulty is connected with the nonperturbative nature o...

Systems made by two heavy quarks are particularly interesting from the theoretical point of view. They are characterized by the energy scales typical of a nonrelativistic bound system: the scale of the mass m, the scale of the relative momentum p ∼ mv ∼ r, the scale of the binding energy E ∼ mv, v ≪ 1 being the quark velocity and r the radius of the system. This is similar to what happens for t...

متن کاملHeavy Quarkonium Inclusive Decays: Theoretical Status and Perspectives
In recent years, the study of heavy quarkonia (bb̄, cc̄, ...) has gone through several theoretical and experimental advances. From the theoretical side the introduction of non-relativistic effective field theories (EFTs) of QCD has put our description of these systems on the solid ground of QCD. It has made it possible, in the case of several observables, to factorize the high-energy dynamics int...
